AFP’s winning track record of going bigger than politics as usual

For nearly two decades, people have chosen to partner with Americans for Prosperity to reignite the American Dream because they know when they work with us, they’re taking part in a movement that’s bigger than politics as usual.

This year has been no exception. Here’s how our grassroots network has been delivering real, tangible policy results at the local, state, and national level to improve the lives of millions of people.

Notable policy victories achieved by AFP’s grassroots network

In Florida, we empowered parents in their children’s education with the passage of universal education savings accounts.

In West Virginia, we reduced taxes on hardworking families.

In Ohio, we cut burdensome regulations to increase opportunity for all.

In Montana, we’re making housing more affordable.

In Iowa, we helped end occupational restrictions preventing people from making a living.

In South Carolina, we repealed Certificate of Need laws, providing patients with more choice and control over their health care.

We’ve been effective on the national level, too, pointing out how prosperity is possible if we change course on economic and energy policy as well as blocking bad policy put forth by the Biden administration:

We made it so clear that “Bidenomics” is bad economics that President Joe Biden stopped touting it.
We brought hundreds of staff, activists, journalists, and community leaders to Texas and Arizona from across the country to highlight the urgent need to secure the border.
We built a winning coalition that helped H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act, pass the U.S. House.
We held the Biden administration accountable for student loan bailouts that would leave Americans paying more and ESG rules that would put Americans’ retirement savings at risk.

These are just a handful of the hundreds of policy wins we’ve racked up in Washington, D.C. and across the country, none of which would have been achieved without our unparalleled volunteers.

Americans for Prosperity had 6,500 volunteers in 2023, proving the viability of going bigger than politics as usual and that AFP is a preferred partner for advocates wanting to contribute to their communities.

Here’s how our grassroots volunteers have made an impact

AFP and AFP Action’s grassroots organizations were supported by 6,500 volunteers who have hit 7.4 million doors in 2023.
AFP and AFP Action each had more volunteers in 2023 than any other political off-year in their organization’s history.
In 2022 and 2023, AFP and AFP Action knocked on 15,675,413 doors, which is double the number of doors knocked in the prior four election years combined (2014, 2016, 2018, 2020).
In 2023, AFP and AFP Action grassroots teams collectively hosted 5,238 events with 36,729 attendees, nearly matching the number of events hosted in 2020-2022 combined.
AFP’s grassroots infrastructure supported our legislative efforts leading to 102 policy victories at the state-level in 2023.

Americans for Prosperity held 5,238 events in 2023, reaching communities across the country and key lawmakers with the message of reigniting the American Dream and going bigger than politics as usual.
