Grassroots group hopes to find opportunities to work with Congressman-elect
HARRISBURG, Pa. – Americans for Prosperity-Pennsylvania (AFP-PA) on Thursday congratulated Congressman-elect Conor Lamb for winning the special election for Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional District and applauded AFP-PA activists for their work in the closing weeks of the race. The grassroots organization had urged Pennsylvanians to vote against Conor Lamb for Congress but looks forward to opportunities to work with the congressman-elect on policies that advance freedom and break down barriers to opportunity.
AFP-PA State Director Beth Anne Mumford issued the following statement:
“We congratulate Rep.-elect Conor Lamb for his victory and look forward to identifying ways to work with him to advance policies that promote a free and open society and ensure Pennsylvania’s citizens have the best opportunities to succeed. We also congratulate our activists for playing a key role in keeping this race so close. In just over two weeks, dozens of volunteers made approximately 250,000 phone calls urging Pennsylvanians to get out and vote.
“Moving forward, we hope Congressman-elect Lamb acknowledges the bigger paychecks everyday Pennsylvanians are already experiencing due to tax reform and urge him to protect the tax law and stop any efforts by his soon-to-be-colleagues to undercut the reforms.
“We have a permanent grassroots community here in Pennsylvania, and, due to our activists’ passion and commitment, we are uniquely positioned to hold Rep.-elect Lamb accountable during his time as congressman, and we plan to do just that. It’s time to get back to work.”
