AFP-PA Disappointed in Casey for Blocking Spending Cuts Vote

Jun 21, 2018 by AFP

Harrisburg, Pa. – Americans for Prosperity-Pennsylvania (AFP-PA) expressed disappointment in Senator Bob Casey for blocking President Trump’s rescission package from coming to the Senate floor for a vote. The modest spending cut package was a first step toward reducing excessive government spending that has become commonplace in Washington. The grassroots group will be holding Senator Casey accountable for his vote.

AFP-PA State Director Beth Anne Mumford issued the following statement:

“Sen. Casey’s vote just made the longest day of the year feel even longer by denying taxpayers even these modest savings.  Despite our activists’ encouragement, Senator Casey remains insensitive to the needs of taxpayers and continues to defend the bipartisan, spend-happy culture in Washington. We are thankful Senator Toomey voted to bring rescission to the Senate floor for a vote and hope he carries this spirit of fiscal restraint into the coming mandatory spending discussions.”
