Washington, DC – Americans for Prosperity’s Vice President of Government Affairs Akash Chougule released the following statement on the Bureau of Economic Analysis’ GDP estimate of 1.6% growth for the first quarter of 2024:
“Today’s GDP estimate shows the economy growing far less than expected as Bidenomics continues to bring higher prices and less investment. Just last week, President Biden said he wants to let the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act individual tax cuts expire—an approach that would result in automatic and crushing tax hikes for most hardworking Americans on top of Biden’s other proposals to raise taxes on employers and investment. Our country badly needs growth, but all we’re getting from Bidenomics is more government, more cronyism, and tax hike proposals that are an absolute nightmare for economic growth.”
