Criminal Justice
Americans are rightly concerned about the impact of violent crime in communities big and small. Most crime goes unreported to police, and that which is reported remains unsolved. This means our criminal justice system is failing to provide justice to most victims and prevent victimization in the future. We’re advocating for better funding for law enforcement and a justice system that works for everyone by focusing on preventing violent crime and keeping communities safe.
Priorities
- Properly fund law enforcement.
- We must allow law enforcement to focus on preventing and solving serious crimes.
- Cities need to focus on strategies that prevent and reduce violent crime.
- States must continue to enact laws that help individuals successfully reenter society after going through the criminal justice system.
