VP Harris’ Rinse-and-Repeat of Bidenomics Offers Same Failed Approach that Led to Historic Inflation

Aug 16, 2024 by AFP

Arlington, VA – In advance of Vice President Kamala Harris’ speech today, where she attempts to distance herself from the failed policies of the Biden-Harris administration, AFP Senior Policy Fellow Kurt Couchman issued the following statement:

“While Vice President Harris may think she has the luxury of moving on from her role in massive government spending that pushed inflation to historic highs, Americans certainly do not. VP Harris repeatedly cast tie-breaking votes to advance harmful, inflationary policies – and Americans are left suffering from an unaffordable cost-of-living crisis because of it.

“As bad as those votes were, the policies being proposed today are a combination of the exact same mistakes that led to this historic cost-of-living crisis in the first place. Massive new spending, overregulation, and price controls is a recipe for more inflation and a return of the empty shelves and shortages we saw during the height of COVID. If you wanted to increase costs for Americans even more, this is how you’d do it.

“This administration clearly wants to blame everyone but themselves for the disastrous impact of their policies. Americans should take notice they are being offered a dangerous rinse-and-repeat of Bidenomics. There’s nothing new or different about what the Vice President is laying out today and what was tried and failed over the last four years.”

AFP is also reminding voters across the country that Vice President Harris wouldn’t have been able to advance these harmful policies if it weren’t for the support of key Senators like Jon Tester, Sherrod Brown, Bob Casey, Jacky Rosen, and Tammy Baldwin. Each of those Senators should also be asked whether they support what Vice President Harris outlined today.
