Columbia, SC – Today, the South Carolina House advanced S62, a landmark bill expanding the Education Savings Account (ESA) program universally in South Carolina. Americans for Prosperity – South Carolina (AFP-SC) applauds the House for its efforts in championing education freedom for all learners following the recent attempt to water down the legislation.

AFP-SC State Director Matt Humm released the following statement:

“South Carolina is one step closer to ensuring every child has access to a high-quality education. Universal school choice would unlock transformative opportunities that empower our students to thrive and succeed in an environment that meets their unique needs. After the Senate fell short of passing universal school choice earlier this year, we commend the House for stepping up to the plate and renewing our hope for education freedom.

“AFP-SC remains committed to advancing universal school choice in the Palmetto State. We value our work with state lawmakers in delivering education solutions for families and their students. With states across the country advancing their own universal school choice legislation, South Carolina students must not be left behind.”
