DENVER, CO – As Americans across the country prepare to travel this Presidents’ Day weekend, Americans for Prosperity – Colorado (AFP-CO) is blasting “Bidenomics” and highlighting overall increased prices under the Biden Administration’s failed economic agenda.

AFP-CO State Director Jesse Mallory released the following statement:

“As families prepare to take advantage of the upcoming long weekend, they can expect to pay more at the pump. With the highest inflation rates in the country and reports of gas prices expected to increase in the coming months, this Presidents’ Day is yet another reminder that ‘Bidenomics’ has failed Coloradans.

“Governor Polis has been a rubber stamp on President Biden’s failed policies from the start. It is time our Governor stands with the people of Colorado instead of supporting the President’s failed agenda that has already destroyed American energy production and hindered economic growth.”

A recent Denver Gazette article reported gas prices in the Denver metropolitan area will continue to “soar,” with statewide prices increasing 14.4 cents per gallon each week. Increased gas prices are expected to remain high from mid-February well into the spring. These reports come just two months after Colorado was reported as having the highest rate of inflation of any state in America.

Background

AFP-CO has been a leader in addressing how inflation and increased energy costs have drastically impacted the state. Last year, AFP-CO launched a “Taxed & Furious” public pressure campaign with an anti-gas tax video game urging Coloradans to reject a gas tax increase.
