Arlington, Va. – Americans for Prosperity (AFP) congratulated Justice Amy Coney Barrett on her confirmation by the Senate to be an associate justice of the Supreme Court and commended its grassroots activists for their incredible work to ensure Justice Barrett’s confirmation. Since the launch of AFP’s full scale campaign, which began just minutes after Justice Barrett’s nomination by President Trump on Sep. 26th, AFP grassroots activists have made and sent more than 750,000 – three quarters of a million – phone calls and letters to their senators urging them to confirm Judge Barrett to the high court. AFP will now launch a campaign, which includes digital and newspaper ads, to thank those senators who voted to confirm Justice Barrett.
Casey Mattox, AFP’s Vice President for Legal and Judicial Strategy, issued the following statement:
“All Americans will benefit from having Justice Amy Coney Barrett on the Supreme Court. She is a highly-qualified and independent minded judge who will help ensure the Supreme Court upholds the Constitution and preserves our fundamental civil liberties for years to come. We thank President Trump for nominating, and the Senate for confirming, Justice Barrett to the high court.
“Most importantly, we thank our grassroots for keeping the pressure up. We are in awe of our activists’ incredible work over the last several weeks, mobilizing across the country, at a moment’s notice, to talk with their fellow Americans about Justice Barrett’s judicial philosophy and record that puts the Constitution first. Because of them, we were able to generate more than 750,000 letters and phone calls to senators and let them know that Judge Amy Coney Barrett should be, without question, Justice Amy Coney Barrett.”
Background on AFP’s Campaign to Confirm Justice Amy Coney Barrett:

The national campaign, which focused on Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and West Virginia, launched just minutes after President Trump nominated Justice Barrett on Sep. 26 and included a robust mix of targeted direct-mail, layered digital ads, and other tactics to supplement activists’ efforts across the country.
AFP also set up a unique UniteForBarrett.com web page that empowered activists to share their support of Justice Barrett with their senators, and the group’s state leaders have taken the conversation directly to the grassroots by talking to members of their communities, writing op-eds in local newspapers, and hitting the airwaves. The group has also hosted 10 live videoconferences for the grassroots to hear directly from their senators and state attorneys general, and spearheaded a coalition letter of more than 200 leaders from national and state groups urging senators to confirm Justice Barrett.
