Americans for Prosperity Launches Statewide TV & Digital Ad Blitz Thanking Governor DeSantis for Supporting Educational Freedom

Tallahassee, FL – Americans for Prosperity-Florida (AFP-FL) today announced a statewide six-figure television and digital ad campaign thanking Governor Ron DeSantis for supporting legislation that will give parents and students educational opportunity to meet their unique needs.

AFP-FL State Director Skylar Zander issued the following statement:

“Governor DeSantis is fighting for all Florida students. He has enacted policies that will give parents the freedom to choose the educational opportunity that best fits their child’s needs. Our Americans for Prosperity activists across the state and Florida families thank the governor for his dedication to giving more kids the opportunity and tools to succeed.”

Background:

Governor DeSantis recently signed HB 7045 into law. This bill will simplify and streamline the state’s scholarship programs while also expanding eligibility and access to them. Having played a part in advancing this legislation from the start, Americans for Prosperity was delighted to see it become law to provide families with the flexibility to decide the right educational paths for their children.

Another significant change that AFP-FL has been working toward for years passed this year – providing alternate authorizers for charter schools. Creating alternative avenues for charter schools to be sponsored in Florida through state universities and Florida college system institutions allows our state to develop additional school options and ensure more personalized education experiences for students who have different talents and needs.
