AFP-Montana Disappointed in Senate for Blocking Rescission Vote

Jun 21, 2018 by AFP

BOZEMAN, MT — Following yesterday’s failed procedural vote in the Senate on President Trumps’ rescission package, Americans for Prosperity- Montana State Director David Herbst issued the following response:

“The Senate missed an opportunity to restore fiscal sanity in Washington. This rescission package was a modest step toward changing the culture of reckless spending by lawmakers. We are disappointed in Senator Tester. He claims he’s worried about our national debt yet votes against this proposal that would give back unused funds to pay down that debt. Montanans deserve lawmakers who will make tough decisions on spending.”

AFP has been an outspoken proponent of President Trump’s rescission plan. In a continuation of its long-term Stop Overspending campaign, on Monday AFP-MT announced digital ads urging Senator Tester to support the White House’s rescission plan.
