We are the Virginia chapter of Americans for Prosperity, the nation’s premier grassroots organization of citizen leaders working together at the national, state and local levels to protect and advance the individual right to economic freedom.

We dedicate ourselves to educating citizens about economic policy, and then mobilizing them to become advocates in the public policy process. Our members understand the importance of securing a limited-power government, and know what it takes to fight the growth and return government to its constitutional limits.

In Virginia, AFP has a reputation of working on both sides of the aisle to accomplish what is best for taxpayers of the Commonwealth.

- Local: In December of 2008, AFP-Virginia worked locally in Goochland County to preserve the rights of property owners.

- State: In the Summer of 2008, AFP-Virginia was on the front lines fighting Governor Kaine's proposed tax increase. The tax, which would have taken more money away from hardworking Virginians, was defeated in part to the hard work of AFP-Virginia's members.

- Federal: AFP has been one of the biggest critics of earmarks and other forms of wasteful government spending.
