We’re Getting Closer to Tax Relief

March 27, 2012 J

Together we won a victory in the Legislature; next year you may be paying less in taxes.

While some members of the Unicameral criticized tax relief as ‘irresponsible,’ ‘unaffordable’ or a ‘misplaced priority,’ thousands of you who made phone calls, sent emails and contacted your state senator letting them know you support tax relief made the difference.

LB 970, legislation that will lower state personal income tax rates, was approved on a 36-6 first round vote. Yet there are still concerns the bill may not pass a second vote, or may be further compromised.
