CONCORD, NH – Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) today commended the Senate for passing HB399, a bill that creates a process to expunge past marijuana-related misdemeanor records for possession amounts that are no longer a crime. AFP-NH recently launched digital ads connecting Granite Staters with their lawmakers to urge them to support the bill.
AFP-NH Deputy State Director Ross Connolly issued the following statement:
“This legislation takes the common-sense approach of aligning criminal records with current law. In 2017, Governor Sununu took the correct step in de-criminalizing small possession of marijuana, and this bill completes that initiative by giving thousands of Granite Staters a second chance by creating a path towards expunging misdemeanors that are no longer criminalized.”
