On IRA Anniversary, Does Tester Stand by His Vote?

MISSOULA, MT – Ahead of the August 16 anniversary of the passage of the so-called Inflation Reduction Act, Americans for Prosperity-Montana (AFP-Montana) is reminding Montanans that the historic inflation they’ve experienced in recent years is a product of the failed leadership of senators like Jon Tester.

Inflation has been unusually high since the Biden-Harris administration took office due to reckless spending, and there is no doubt that the trillion-dollar IRA did nothing to reduce it. In fact, increased inflation has cost the average Montana household more than $30,000 since January 2021.

Senator Tester was the deciding vote on many of these disastrous “Bidenomics” policies that have contributed to the pain Americans are experiencing as the cost of living has skyrocketed under his watch. Tester claimed the Inflation Reduction Act would “pay down the debt by hundreds of billions of dollars” and “lower costs for families.” Does Tester still stand by his vote?

AFP-Montana State Director Jesse Ramos released the following statement:

“Jon Tester knew the ‘Inflation Reduction Act’ was a ruse—a way to push his progressive, reckless spending, not to reduce inflation. The fact is, that the so-called Inflation Reduction Act didn’t decrease inflation. Instead, it’s hitting Montanans hard and costing us more than $1,117 more per month than before the Biden-Harris administration.

“Montanans deserve to know if Tester still stands by this bait-and-switch or regrets the economic harm it’s caused.”
