BOZEMAN, MT – Americans for Prosperity-Montana (AFP-MT) applauds the Trump Administration’s nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court. Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia with bipartisan support in 2006. AFP-MT will activate thousands of activists across the state who will urge Senator Tester to confirm Brett Kavanaugh without delay.
Americans for Prosperity-Montana State Director David Herbst issued the following statement:
“First Justice Gorsuch, now Brett Kavanaugh – the President has kept his promise to nominate jurists who will faithfully protect the fundamental freedoms enshrined in our Constitution. Judge Kavanaugh’s record indicates he will interpret the Constitution as written and will not legislate from the bench. AFP-MT urges Senator Tester to put partisan politics aside and vote to confirm this eminently qualified jurist.”
Brett Kavanaugh, a graduate of Yale Law School and former clerk to Justice Anthony Kennedy, received bipartisan support in 2006 for his confirmation to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. During his 12 years on the federal bench, Judge Kavanaugh has demonstrated a commitment to the rule of law and is widely respected for his principled approach to interpreting the Constitution as written.
Americans for Prosperity will commit seven-figures to paid advertising and grassroots engagement in support of Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation. Door-knocking and phone scripts have already been deployed to Montana and a first round of mail and door hangers will be deployed in the coming weeks.
