WASHINGTON, DC—Today the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that the Mountain Valley Pipeline construction could proceed under provisions of the Fiscal Responsibility Act.

The state directors of Americans for Prosperity in Pennsylvania and West Virginia praised the high court’s decision while urging Congress to do more to lower energy costs and remove barriers to domestic energy production.

AFP-Pennsylvania State Director Ashley Klingensmith gave the following statement:

“Our Prosperity Is Possible campaign emphasizes the need to unleash energy abundance in America, as projects sitting dormant, delayed or never commenced mean real opportunities lost in the communities they touch. The Supreme Court has provided both Pennsylvanians and West Virginians a reason to hope for abundant days ahead. This is a big win for workers and ratepayers, but Congress can and should do more to make energy more affordable for Americans across the country.

AFP-West Virginia State Director Jason Huffman also commented:

“While we applaud the decision by the Supreme Court to lift the unlawful injunction, if Senators like Joe Manchin would find the courage to stand up to President Biden by passing H.R. 1, our nation would be able to complete numerous other energy projects leading to more reliable, affordable.”
