NASHVILLE, TN – Yesterday, Americans for Prosperity – Tennessee (AFP-TN) hosted a universal school choice and parents’ rights rally at the Tennessee State Capitol with lawmakers, prominent school choice leaders, and grassroots activists. In an effort to fund students, not systems, the group is urging the General Assembly to expand universal school choice across the state.
AFP-TN State Director Tori Venable released the following statement following the rally:
“We greatly appreciate Tennessee Senate Majority Leader Jack Johnson and Dr. Corey DeAngelis for joining us to highlight the need to pass universal school choice this legislative session.
“We also thank Governor Lee for making education freedom a central part of his legislative agenda and echo his calls for the General Assembly to pass universal school choice.
“Thanks to the tireless work of parents, students, educators, and grassroots advocates involved in AFP-Tennessee, we will continue to be a leading voice for education policy solutions that allow every child to thrive in a learning environment that meets their unique needs and strengths.”
