ICYMI: Americans for Prosperity – Kansas Holds Tax Day Events Statewide and Urges Rep. Davids to Renew Trump Tax Cuts

Kansas City, KS – This Tuesday, Americans for Prosperity – Kansas (AFP-KS) hosted multiple Tax Day events across the state, educating Kansans about the $2,228 federal tax hike they could face if President Trump’s Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) isn’t renewed this year.

The events were part of AFP’s national campaign, Protect Prosperity, which featured more than 60 grassroots events in 30 states yesterday. AFP-KS shared the importance of renewing the TCJA and how the expiration of these cuts will hurt Kansas families and small business owners.

The group also rallied outside of Representative Sharice Davids’ (KS-03) office, urging the Congresswoman to protect Kansas families from looming tax hikes in Washington. On KQAM radio, Elizabeth Patton stated that Rep. Davids’ office did not allow them to enter and share the importance of protecting nearly 7,000 Kansas jobs, but the activists still spoke to people throughout Overland Park about the pressing issue.

AFP-KS State Director, Elizabeth Patton, said:

“Tax cuts provide necessary relief to hardworking families who are burdened by inflation. While Rep. Davids was unwilling to listen to us, AFP-KS will continue to call on her support in Congress to ensure these historic tax cuts don’t expire, causing a nightmare for Kansans. We can’t allow the TCJA to expire!”
