WASHINGTON, D.C. — Yesterday, Americans for Prosperity-Montana (AFP-Montana) and popular radio show host and veteran Aaron Flint were joined by congressional leaders to discuss the government “Schumer Shutdown” and its impacts on the region and beyond. AFP sponsored Flint’s Montana Talks to bring congressional voices to the people of Montana.

AFP-Montana State Director Jesse Ramos joined the program to discuss the impacts of the government shutdown on Montana and how Chuck Schumer and Democrats are failing the American people.

On the show, Congressman Ryan Zinke stated Democrats positioning on the shutdown “is about protests, not about policy.” Montana Senator Steve Daines highlighted how Schumer is playing politics during the soon-to-be longest government shutdown in history

AFP’s Chief Government Affairs Officer, Brent Gardner, joined Flint and Ramos to discuss how Democrats will own the “Schumer Shutdown,” saying “they don’t truly care about this country and what’s happening to it, and they’ve been willing to play politics with American families and lives…it’s time to reopen the government.”

Senator Kevin Cramer spoke to the Trump administration’s priority of unleashing American energy in states like Montana and North Dakota, saying, “Permitting of pipelines is a huge deal…we can’t be hamstringing our own pipeline supply to the benefit of other nations.”

Additionally, Ramos and Flint were joined by U.S. Senators Tim Sheehy and Jim Risch as well as Congressmen Troy Downing, Bruce Westerman and Pat Harrigan.
