MANCHESTER, NH – Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire (AFP-NH) today expressed disappointment following the House Rules Committee’s rejection of the opportunity to introduce a bill that would prevent a 12.5% increase to the business enterprise tax and an increase to the business profits tax.
AFP-NH has been at the forefront of advocating for business tax relief and ensuring businesses aren’t hit with a tax increase at a time when many businesses are trying to get back on their feet. Recently, AFP-NH launched a digital ad campaign urging Granite Staters to contact their lawmakers to oppose increasing taxes on employers.
Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire State Director Greg Moore issued the following statement:
“It’s tragic that the House Rules Committee did not take the opportunity to protect employers, particularly small businesses, from a counterproductive tax increase that creates even more obstacles to get our state back to work. Instituting a 12.5% tax increase on small businesses, even if they’re losing money, is exactly the opposite approach to getting workers and our economy to recover and thrive again. We need to give our employers a chance to get back up on their feet, not another impediment to recovering.”
