MADISON, WI—Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin (AFP-WI) today applauded the Wisconsin Legislature’s passage of Assembly Bill 2, an important bill aimed at protecting Wisconsin’s small businesses and economic recovery.
AFP-Wisconsin State Director, Eric Bott, issued the following statement:
“We thank the Legislature for leading and taking this important step today to help protect Wisconsin businesses from the surprise, additional tax implemented by Governor Evers’ administration on the relief they took to survive pandemic-related shutdowns. These businesses used the Paycheck Protection Program to help keep our fellow citizens employed – we should not punish them with a nearly half billion dollar tax. Now that the Legislature has taken swift action to help our economy, we urge Governor Evers to sign this much-needed relief into law as soon as possible.”
