Americans for Prosperity – Pennsylvania Issues Statement on Governor Shapiro and Governor Whitmer Campaigning for Vice President Harris
PHILADELPHIA, PA – As Governor Josh Shapiro and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer are campaigning together for Vice President Kamala Harris today, Americans for Prosperity – Pennsylvania (AFP-PA) is highlighting the Vice President’s radical record and agenda that will destroy jobs and vital industries in the Keystone State.
AFP-PA State Director Emily Greene released the following statement:
“Make no mistake, Vice President Kamala Harris is just as culpable for the failures of the Biden-Harris administration as President Biden is. She—along with Pennsylvania Senator Bob Casey—cast the deciding votes on the Inflation Reduction Act, which was nothing more than an appeasement of radical left activists and triggered higher inflation.
“As Governor Shapiro and Governor Gretchen Whitmer attempt to make their case to Pennsylvanians, AFP-PA and our grassroots supporters will continue to highlight Harris’ failures and radical agenda, such as banning domestic energy production and embracing burdensome regulations that would cripple our industries and destroy jobs.
“Governor Shapiro already broke his campaign promise regarding protecting Pennsylvania’s energy industry. We look forward to educating Pennsylvanians how the Governor is another rubber stamp for the Biden-Harris administration.”
Background
Last September, AFP released a study highlighting stalled energy projects in Pennsylvania and how overregulation leads to increased energy costs across the board.
Last November, AFP-PA called out Governor Shapiro for his broken campaign promise to defend energy jobs and keep energy costs low by appealing a Commonwealth Court decision that former Governor Tom Wolf acted outside his constitutional authority to include Pennsylvania into the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI).
