Americans for Prosperity-Ohio Kicks Off Border Security & Immigration Tour, Releases Seven-Figure Ad Buy
Columbus, OH – Americans for Prosperity-Ohio (AFP-OH) will kick off the Buckeye State leg of its national Border Security & Immigration Tour next week, highlighting the crisis at the US-Mexico border and the Biden administration’s border security failures. Today, AFP released a nationwide seven-figure ad buy, dropping an ad in Ohio holding Sen. Sherrod Brown accountable for voting against border security.
The Ohio Border Security & Immigration Tour will feature Jordan Fischetti, AFP Immigration Policy Fellow and former immigration attorney, as he presents a four-pillar strategy needed to secure the border. He will be speaking from first-hand experience at the border and in the courtroom, providing much needed perspective for folks across the Buckeye state.
“While on the campaign trail, President Biden repeatedly signaled that the border would be more porous than ever. And migrants were listening,” said AFP Immigration Policy Fellow, Jordan Fischetti. “The good news is that the vast majority of Americans want Congress to take urgent action on common sense fixes, including hiring more Border Patrol agents and raising their pay; hiring more civilian personnel to monitor asylum seekers, so Border Patrol agents can focus on securing the border; and increasing the speed and thoroughness of inspections at ports of entry.
“The border crisis isn’t just a problem for border states. Ohioans feel the consequences of poor immigration policy and a lack of border security every day,” added AFP-OH State Director Donovan O’Neil. “AFP has outlined and highlighted a clear strategy that will help to solve this crisis and keep Ohioans, and all Americans, safer.”
AFP has proposed a framework for future border security and immigration proposals based on the Four Pillars on Border Security and Visa Reform, which would secure the border and ports, establish clear and predictable rules for our immigration system, increase American competitiveness within the global economy, and increase government transparency and accountability.
The tour kicks off this Monday, May 20, 2024, at the AC Hotel Cincinnati at Liberty Center at 6pm. As Jordan Fischetti, local elected officials, and the community discuss border security solutions, AFP-OH will be providing food and drinks. The tour will continue with events until Thursday, May 23, 2024.
