LOUISVILLE, KY – Upon the news of the unannounced and unexpected strike at Ford’s Kentucky Truck Plant, Americans for Prosperity – Kentucky (AFP-KY) is blasting this decision by UAW President Shawn Fain and union bosses who have been emboldened by President Biden’s failed ‘Bidenomics’ labor and economic agenda.

AFP-KY State Director Heather LeMire released the following statement:

“The Ford Kentucky Truck Plant employs 8,700 workers and produces some of the most popular trucks that Americans rely on. While auto workers, like all American workers, are understandably concerned about the rising costs of inflation and their uncertain economic futures, the future of American manufacturing is at risk due to President Biden’s radical and extreme assault on domestic energy and union boss agenda. This is not the time to exacerbate the problem by halting the assembly line.

“The tactics being utilized by UAW President Shawn Fain are putting union boss politics above the long-term interests of workers. Big union bosses – and the Biden Administration – are using workers as pawns to advance their political agenda.”
