ATLANTA, GA – Last week, Americans for Prosperity – Georgia (AFP-GA) attended AFP’s annual Capitol Conference in Washington D.C. Throughout the conference, AFP-GA met with several members of Georgia’s congressional delegation including Policy Champion Congressman Rich McCormick (GA-06), Congressman Buddy Carter (GA-01), and Congressman Rick Allen (GA-12). AFP-GA also met with staff from the offices of Congressman Drew Ferguson (GA-03), Congressman Andrew Clyde (GA-09), and Congressman Barry Loudermilk (GA-11). During these meetings, AFP-GA discussed the Employee Rights Act, the importance of passing Personal Option health care policies, and H.R. 1, the Lower Energy Costs Act.
AFP-GA Deputy State Director Tony West released the following statement:
“We were on the Hill last week representing hardworking Georgians and advocating for our federal ‘Pathway to Prosperity’ agenda. From taxes and budget reform to healthcare and immigration, we visited members of our Georgia delegation to encourage them to take bold steps and lead on these issues to make sure Georgians can ‘Reignite the American Dream.’
“We would like to thank Congressman Rick Allen (GA-12) for his support in co-sponsoring the Employee Rights Act, AFP Policy Champion Congressman Rich McCormick (GA-06) for his commitment to ending certificate of need laws in Georgia, and Congressman Buddy Carter (GA-01) for his support of education freedom. These three lawmakers are devoted to supporting legislation to reduce bureaucratic regulations and foster economic growth.”
