Americans for Prosperity Announces 2020 Legislative Session Agenda: Arizona’s Pathway to Prosperity
PHOENIX, AZ – Americans for Prosperity-Arizona (AFP-AZ) today announced its 2020 legislative session agenda: Arizona’s Pathway to Prosperity. AFP-AZ will advocate for legislation in three key policy areas that will improve the lives of all Arizonans and make our state a better place to live, work, and raise a family.

AFP-AZ State Director Stephen Shadegg issued the following statement:
“Our activists are dedicated to encouraging their lawmakers to pass policies that improve the lives of all Arizonans. During this year’s legislative session, we hope to make important strides in reforming our criminal justice system, rejecting corporate welfare, and reducing our tax burden. We look forward to working with anyone who shares our vision to transform Arizona.”
AFP-AZ’s Pathway to Prosperity focuses on the following three policy areas:
- Reforming Our Criminal Justice System: Looking at opportunities to alleviate barriers by expunging records and allowing for a clean slate, expanding earned release credits to prepare incarcerated individuals for reentry into their communities, and providing greater transparency with data in our criminal justice system.
- Rejecting Corporate Welfare: Working to eliminate the practice of government handouts that pick winners and losers in the marketplace, at the expense of hard-working Arizonans.
- Tackling Taxes: Lowering the tax burden on hard-working Arizonans and rejecting any attempts to raise the gas tax that would negative impact industries and weaken our economy.
