CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Americans for Prosperity-West Virginia (AFP-WV), congratulates the six AFP endorsed lawmakers who won their primary elections last night. AFP-WV sent mail, launched digital ads, and knocked on doors on behalf of eight candidates the organization endorsed in the May primary. AFP-WV has helped elect dozens of candidates since 2020.
“We have a great track record of being a real difference maker in competitive elections because of our permanent grassroots infrastructure. It remains crucial that we stand up for policymakers who have taken the tough votes in order to help every West Virginian thrive,” said AFP-WV State Director Jason Huffman. “We look forward to working with these candidates during the 2025 Legislative Session as we continue to strive to make West Virginia a better place to live, work and raise a family:
6 AFP-WV endorsed candidates were victorious in their primary elections:
WV-GOV State Attorney General Patrick Morrisey
SD 01 State Sen. Ryan Weld
SD 16 State Sen. Patricia Rucker
LD 02 State Rep. Mark Zatezalo
LD 53 Tristan Leavitt
LD 57 Mark Carter
“AFP-WV has been instrumental in adopting some of the most transformational legislation in recent memory, including the largest tax cut in state history and the nation’s first universal Education Savings Account program—the Hope Scholarship. As the country’s premier grassroots organization, AFP possesses a unique advantage to empower activists and embolden principled lawmakers to rapidly adopt policies that are proven to expand freedom and opportunity for all West Virginians. That is why we choose to back principled lawmakers who stand with us and their fellow Mountaineers,” said AFP-WV Deputy State Director Crescent Gallagher.
