CHARLESTON, WV – Americans for Prosperity-West Virginia (AFP-WV) released their 2025 Pathway to Prosperity Legislative Agenda, today, as well as a six-figure spend in support of the agenda. AFP-WV will be actively pursuing the passage of the West Virginia REINS Act, repeal of all Certificate of Need (CON) laws, and full expansion of the Hope Scholarship. This legislative agenda aligns with months of grassroots engagement and paid media that ended out 2024.
“Our goal is to bolster Governor Patrick Morrisey and principled lawmakers as they work rapidly to enact common-sense policy solutions. We want to see policies that are proven to put more money back into the pockets of hardworking taxpayers, the repurposing and right-sizing of government, cutting needless red tape standing in the way of more affordable, reliable health care, and fighting for educational freedom for every student and family,” said State Director Jason Huffman. “Governor Morrisey’s overwhelming electoral victory represents a mandate from the people to enact his bold economic agenda. We look forward to working closely with legislative leaders to do just that.”
2025 Priorities:
“We are engaging our grassroots activists around the state through events, advocacy and a six-figure spend to support Governor Morrisey’s shared goal of making West Virginia the freest state in the nation. Lawmakers should fully expect to hear encouragement from our activists in the coming weeks,” said Deputy State Director Crescent Gallagher. “Voters spoke clearly this last election they want bold, transformational changes coming from our state government.”
AFP-WV will launch a six-figure spend focused on digital engagement and direct mail to embolden lawmakers to swiftly pass proven, principled polices. These efforts will include grassroots events across the state and efforts to connect average West Virginians with their lawmakers.
