CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Americans for Prosperity-West Virginia (AFP-WV) released the following statement following Patrick Morrisey’s historic victory in the race for governor:
“Americans for Prosperity made a commitment to electing a true policy champion, Patrick Morrisey, back in July of 2023. West Virginia voters, today, overwhelming supported that same vision that Morrisey will bring to the table as our next governor. Patrick Morrisey is a principled leader who isn’t afraid to stand up to the status quo. And we are excited to work with him to make West Virginia a better place to live, work and raise a family,” said AFP-WV State Director Jason Huffman.
“This election marks a change of the guard when it comes to politics in the Mountain State. We are proud to have leveraged our signature grassroots approach to move West Virginia away from politics as usual and towards bold leaders with a strong vision. Our next goal is to help Patrick Morrisey enact common-sense policy solutions that are proven to put more money back into the pockets of hardworking taxpayers, cut government red tape standing in the way of more affordable, reliable health care, and continue to fight for educational freedom for every student and family.”
