Americans for Prosperity-Virginia (AFP-VA) responded today to the unveiling of a new criminal justice reform agenda from the Governor’s office ahead of the state’s upcoming 2020 legislative session.
“The criminal justice reform agenda outlined by Governor Northam and his Administration today lays out a bright vision for the future of our state, especially for those who want to see a more just system which helps people who deserve a second chance,” Said AFP-Virginia State Director JC Hernandez. “We strongly commend this administration’s focus on eliminating driver’s license suspensions for unpaid court debts and funding Public Defenders in Virginia. As we move closer to the incoming legislative session, our organization looks forward to working to pass reforms that protect public safety, while also giving people the rehabilitation and redemption they deserve.”
