ATLANTA, GA—Americans for Prosperity-Georgia (AFP-GA) today issued a statement in response to the introduction of SB 318, which seeks to protect the rights of students to engage in the freedom of speech and lawful expression.
AFP-GA activists will urge their lawmakers to pass this important step towards protecting free speech in higher education. The organization will also be launching digital advertisements that encourage lawmakers to take up this important bill.
AFP-GA Deputy State Director Tony West issued the following statement:
“Georgia’s institutions of higher education provide a cornerstone of civil discourse that empowers students to act thoughtfully and reap the benefits of our diverse society. Free speech on our campuses clears the way for its hallmark open intellectual environment and enables students to expand their horizons by engaging with an array of disciplines and ideas. SB 318 protects the fundamental right of free expression.”
