Sioux Falls, SD – In their bi-yearly report card ranking governors their role in promoting fiscal responsibility, the Cato Institue has ranked Governor Kristi Noem in the top five in the country for cutting taxes and spending.
Governor Noam has championed a limited-government approach to fiscal policy in South Dakota, pushing for a sales tax cut and a reduction in tax burdens for new businesses. Her responsible fiscal policy has contributed to South Dakota having the second-best business tax climate in the country, as well as being ranked as the third-freest state.
AFP-South Dakota State Director Don Haggar released the following statement:
“AFP-South Dakota is grateful for Governor Kristi Noem’s continued commitment to protecting and promoting fiscal responsibility in our state. By advocating for sales tax cuts and reducing tax burdens, her leadership has made South Dakota a place where the American Dream can continue to flourish, unhindered by unnecessary spending and taxation.
We are proud to see Noem ranked in the top five of governors across the state. As we approach the next legislative session, we look forward to working alongside Governor Noem to continue making South Dakota a place of freedom and opportunity for the people and businesses of our great state.”
