AFP Slams Virginia’s Mandatory Collective Bargaining Bill

Feb 6, 2020 by AFP

Following the passage of HB 582 in the Virginia House of Delegates, JC Hernandez, State Director for AFP-Virginia released the following statement:

“HB582 is the latest attack on workers coming from the House and it undermines the policies that have led to the Commonwealth being the best state to live, do business, and raise a family. Mandatory collective bargaining restricts worker freedom and can lead to policies that bust budgets, reduce government performance, and ultimately harm all citizens. The best way to ensure that our residents, elected officials, and public employees all have a voice in government workplace decisions is through open dialogue rather than through mandatory collective bargaining. We hope that wiser minds prevail and defeat the companion bill in the Senate, SB939.”
