HARRISBURG, Pa. – Americans for Prosperity – Pennsylvania (AFP-PA) congratulated Judge Amy Coney Barrett today on her confirmation to the Supreme Court. As one of fourteen target states included in AFP’s full scale, national campaign, Pennsylvanians sent a combined 33,007 letters to Sens. Pat Toomey and Bob Casey to encourage them to uphold the Constitution by voting “yes” on the Senate floor.

AFP-PA activated its permanent grassroots infrastructure to conduct outreach across the state that was further supplemented by digital ads and direct mail pieces highlighting Judge Barrett’s qualifications as a fair and independent-minded judge. Other critical highlights from the Keystone State’s efforts included seventeen individuals from other grassroots advocacy groups in PA signed onto AFP’s coalition letter.

AFP engagement nationwide surpassed results seen in previous Supreme Court confirmations. Activists sent or made more than three quarters of a million letters and phone calls to their senators to support Judge Barrett’s confirmation, reaching record-breaking engagement. They also sent two million pieces of direct mail and 4.3 million peer-to-peer texts. The grassroots group plans to launch a campaign with ads to thank senators who voted to confirm Judge Barrett.

AFP-PA State Director Ashley Klingensmith issued the following statement:

“Pennsylvanians banded together like never before to support the confirmation of a fair and qualified jurist that will put the Constitution first, interpret the law as written, and uphold our personal freedoms. This could not have been accomplished without the help of our dedicated partners and grassroots activists that helped to generate awareness of her excellent credentials and qualifications. Thank you, Sen. Pat Toomey, for voting yes in support of Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court and demonstrating sound leadership throughout the process.”

The national campaign, which focused on Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, and West Virginia, launched just minutes after President Trump nominated Judge Barrett on Sep. 26 and included a robust mix of targeted direct-mail, layered digital ads, and other tactics to supplement activists’ efforts across the country.

AFP also up a unique UniteForBarrett.com web page that empowered activists to share their support of Judge Barrett with their senators, and the group’s state leaders have taken the conversation directly to the grassroots by talking to members of their communities, writing op-eds in local newspapers, and hitting the airwaves. The group has also hosted several live videoconferences for the grassroots to hear directly from their senators and state attorneys general and spearheaded a coalition letter of more than 200 leaders from national and state groups urging senators to confirm Judge Barrett.
