Harrisburg, Pennsylvania—Today Americans for Prosperity-Pennsylvania (AFP-PA) issued its Taxpayer Scorecard for the 2023-24 legislative session.
The scorecard rates every member of the General Assembly on their voting record with an eye towards tax and spending policies that could increase costs on Pennsylvanians.
This year, four members stood above the rest. In the Senate, AFP-PA recognizes Senators Kristin Phillips-Hill (SD-28) and Elder Vogel (SD-47) who earned an A+ and scored above 100% with their voting records.
In the House, Representatives David Rowe (LD-85) and Perry Stambaugh (LD-86) voted 100% of the time to protect Pennsylvania taxpayers earning a perfect A+ on the grassroots group’s scorecard.
Another eight members of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives earned A’s, voting 90% of the time or better to protect Pennsylvanians’ paychecks:
AFP-PA State Director Emily Greene issued the following statement:
“With this tool, AFP-PA is empowering every Pennsylvanian to evaluate how their elected leaders are representing them when it comes to policy decisions that affect their bottom line.
“With this knowledge available at the click of the button, hardworking taxpayers across the Commonwealth can directly reach out to their elected representatives to thank taxpayer champions—or encourage their representatives to do better to force Harrisburg to live within its means and stop treating Pennsylvania taxpayers like an unlimited ATM.
“We look forward to working with lawmakers to improve their scores so that more champions can earn top scores on our annual scorecard.”
“Pennsylvanians concerned about government spending should reach out to AFP-PA at infopa@afphq.org and learn how they can join us to get Harrisburg to live within its means.”
