AFP-MS: We Will Keep Fighting for Mississippi Families Even as Senate Fails to Deliver on Health Care & Education

Mar 14, 2025 by AFP

Jackson, Mississippi—Americans for Prosperity-Mississippi (AFP-MS) expressed deep disappointment in the Mississippi Senate for failing to move on critical legislation to expand education freedom in the state as well as opening the personal choice in health care with Certificate of Need (CON) reform.

AFP-MS State Director, Starla Brown, issued the following statement:

“It’s unfortunate that lawmakers sent to represent the hardworking families of Mississippi in the legislature failed to deliver results on two issues that matter deeply to voters. Expanding education access regardless of zip code and income levels as well as opening our health care market with CON reform are imperative for moving Mississippi forward. The Senate, once again, sided against families seeking the best education choices for their children and sticks with the status quo of picking winners and losers in the health care market. Even though lawmakers have let Mississippians down this session, AFP-MS will continue fighting for solutions that our communities deserve.”
