DES MOINES, IA – Grassroots activists from all 50 states embarked on Capitol Hill this week as part of Americans for Prosperity’s annual Capitol Conference.

The 2023 Capitol Conference was the largest annual gathering of its kind to date with more than 200 meetings scheduled with members of Congress, senators and other policy champions.

Americans for Prosperity-Iowa State Director Drew Klein made the following statement:

“Now is a crucial inflection point for AFP’s efforts to drive good policy that benefits the American people. Our grassroots infrastructure gives us unique credibility on Capitol Hill and our lawmakers count on us to connect them to the concerns of Iowans. This makes us best-positioned to move the needle on the key issues of economic freedom, healthcare and energy abundance policies that improve the lives of not only Iowans but all Americans.

“This week, we thanked lawmakers for taking the lead and stand ready to partner with them on these crucial issues.”

While on Capitol Hill, AFP-IA met with the following lawmakers in the Iowa delegation:

  • Sen. Chuck Grassley
  • Sen. Joni Ernst
  • Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01)
  • Rep. Ashley Hinson (IA-02)
  • Rep. Zach Nunn (IA-03)
  • Rep. Randy Feenstra (IA-04)
