Atlanta, Georgia—Today the Senate Economic Development and Tourism Committee voted 7-4 to advance The Red Tape Rollback Act of 2025 out of committee, moving the transformational regulatory reform effort to the floor of the Georgia Senate.
Americans for Prosperity-Georgia (AFP-GA) State Director Tony West testified in favor of the legislation and offered measures that would further improve the bill.
After the committee vote, West issued the following statement:
“The Peach State is about to blaze a trail for other states by being among the first states this year to harness the enthusiasm of government efficiency and regulatory reform into meaningful policy.
“It’s one thing to talk about cutting red tape and making the government more efficient—it’s another to summon the political will to pass serious legislation that restores legislative oversight, invites transparency into the regulatory process, and finds real savings for taxpayers and job-creators.
“AFP-GA is excited to join bold regulatory policy champions in building full-throated support for this bill and showing the rest of the country how it’s done.”
