Arlington, Va. – Americans for Prosperity (AFP) today endorsed several key provisions of The Modernizing Americans’ Health Care Plan, a package of health care reforms introduced by Sen. Kelly Loeffler. The legislation represents a significant step forward in improving our health care system with the expansion of tax-free health savings accounts, short-term renewable plans, and telehealth.

AFP Senior Health Policy Fellow Dean Clancy issued the following statement:

“We applaud Senator Loeffler for leading on health care with a plan that includes significant reforms to make our health care system better, more affordable, and more accessible for everyone. Patient-centered reforms such as the expansion of tax-free health savings accounts, association health plans, and short-term renewable plans would expand access and reduce cost for all Americans. These are the kind of bold ideas we need in Washington to begin to fix our health care system, and we urge Congress to put these ideas into action. We welcome the opportunity to work with Senator Loeffler and her colleagues to advance many of the important proposals outlined in her legislation.”

AFP recently launched its policy vision for a Personal Option in health care: a set of reforms aimed at providing universal access to affordable, high-quality care – without a government takeover. The grassroots group is strongly encouraging policymakers to pursue reforms that make the health care system work better for every American.
