ARLINGTON, VA – As we wait to see if a tentative agreement between the UAW and Ford advances and leads to deals ending the strikes at GM and Stellantis facilities, Americans for Prosperity’s Employment Policy Fellow Austen Bannan made the following statement:
“The aggressive union demands and strikes have already caused UAW auto workers, and all American workers, to be highly concerned about their economic futures as wages continue to fall behind inflation and long-term job prospects remain uncertain.
“Unfortunately, President Biden’s top-down labor agenda got us to this breaking point. He has emboldened union leaders to make demands that further endanger the American economy and the future of workers they represent.
“It’s time for President Biden to bring an end to his harmful ‘Bidenomics’ labor, energy, and government spending policies that are fueling the inflation and unease for American workers in the first place.”
