AFP Blasts Casey DNC Speech: “Casey Takes the ‘Bidenflation’ Blame Game on the Road”
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania—Tonight, Senator Bob Casey Jr. (D-PA) used his time on the Democratic National Convention’s main stage to assail so-called “corporate greed” and blame American businesses for the inflation that’s triggered a cost-of-living crisis across the country. But he failed to address how Pennsylvanians—and Americans nationwide—are suffering because of the failed Biden-Harris economic policies for which he voted.
Americans for Prosperity-Pennsylvania (AFP-PA) State Director Emily Greene issued the following statement responding to the Senator’s speech:
“Tonight, Senator Casey took the “Bidenflation Blame Game” on the road, spewing more hot air in the Windy City, gaslighting voters who are genuinely hurting because Casey—and his allies Baldwin, Brown, Rosen, and Tester—rubber-stamped the progressive, debt-fueled Biden-Harris agenda.
“AFP’s recent study on inflation shows conclusively that it is unfunded government spending—not corporate greed or shrinking packages—that overheated the economy and made the American Dream unaffordable.
“Pennsylvanians are tired of the blame game. They want solutions to stabilize the economy and make life more affordable. What the Keystone State needs is honest leadership and sound fiscal and economic policy to get us back on track.”
AFP Senior Fellow for Fiscal Policy and lead author of “The Bidenflation Blame Game” Kurt Couchman added:
“Senator Casey’s finger-pointing is intellectually bankrupt and intentionally misleading. What’s worse, Casey and company have nothing to offer except more heavy-handed government regulations like arbitrary price controls that would stifle the economy, create crime-ridden black markets, and incentivize corporate cronyism.
“Real solutions would involve fixing a dysfunctional Congress, cutting wasteful spending, and embracing pro-growth policies to grow opportunity while restoring price stability.”

Background
In June, Americans for Prosperity released “The Bidenflation Blame Game” an economic report analyzing politicians’ claims blaming businesses for rising prices. The analysis shows these claims are based on cherry-picked information and incomplete data. Unfunded government spending included in legislation like the Inflation Reduction Act, Infrastructure package, CHIPS Act, and American Rescue Plan more accurately accounts for the increase in the money supply that triggered the current cost of living crisis.
