Arlington, Va. — Americans for Prosperity (AFP) applauded the Senate today following the confirmation of Lawrence VanDyke to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Casey Mattox, Vice President, Legal & Judicial Strategy, Americans for Prosperity, issued the following statement:
“Lawrence VanDyke is a highly qualified individual who is committed to faithfully interpreting the Constitution and our laws. He will be a strong voice for the rule of law on the Ninth Circuit. It is encouraging to see two highly qualified nominees confirmed by the Senate this week. We commend Senate leaders and the White House for their dedication to adding distinguished and principled jurists to the courts.”
In October, AFP announced support for VanDyke’s nomination. AFP’s Nevada State Director, Juan Martinez, recently penned an op-ed in support of VanDyke’s nomination, noting that he is “exactly the sort of fair, objective judicial nominee that Nevadans should expect.” Read the full op-ed here.
On Tuesday, the Senate confirmed Patrick Bumatay to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Read AFP’s statement on his confirmation here.
