ARLINGTON, VA— Americans for Prosperity (AFP) applauds the House Education and Workforce Committee for advancing two bills that will give students greater opportunity to succeed in the workforce.
H.R. 6585, Bipartisan Workforce Pell Act and H.R. 6655, A Stronger Workforce for America Act, will help students participate in short-term programs to move into in-demand jobs more quickly and remove burdensome regulations that inhibit individuals from developing the skills they need to succeed in the workforce.
Americans for Prosperity Vice President of Government Affairs Akash Chougule commented:
“We applaud the Education and Workforce Committee for advancing not one, but two bills that take important steps in expanding education opportunities for learners beyond traditional degrees. This legislation will empower students to use their existing Pell Grants to pursue short-term college and alternative education pathways that align with their goals and set them up for success in a changing workforce.”
