KEY VOTE ALERT: Vote YES on H. Con. Res. 14.
Dear Representative,
On behalf of millions of Americans for Prosperity activists in all 50 states, I urge you to support H. Con. Res. 14, Establishing the Budget for Fiscal Year 2025, a critical step towards delivering meaningful economic relief to the American people and advancing the pro-growth policies championed by President Donald Trump.
Passing a “Concurrent Budget Resolution” is the first step in extending tax cuts for working Americans. In 2017, Congress used the budget reconciliation process to pass the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) which was promptly signed by President Donald Trump. The bill was an unmitigated success that benefitted American families, workers, and the overall economy. This landmark piece of legislation reduced individual income tax rates across-the-board, allowing Americans to keep more of their hard-earned money. It also slashed the corporate income tax rate, making American firms much more competitive internationally. In addition, TCJA also provided much needed incentives to work, save, and invest in the future. It is imperative that America preserve this boon to the economy and individuals continue to have the freedom to live, work, save, and invest as they choose.
Should the TCJA expire, it would increase taxes on American workers by $4.6 trillion over the next decade, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). With inflation up over 20% during the Biden Presidency, increasing tax rates on individuals would compound the difficult economic situation many families across the country are currently facing. Congress must head off this approaching disaster by extending TCJA and preventing trillions in additional taxes bills from hitting American families.
Additionally, we applaud the budget resolution’s focus on restoring American energy abundance and efforts to undo President Biden’s disastrous immigration policies. More specifically, as President Donald Trump reshapes the policy priorities of the executive branch through Executive Orders, Congress must reinforce these efforts by defunding, repealing, and formally rejecting final rules issued at a rapid pace by the previous administration. With your help, legislative language can be included in this process to help President Donald Trump deliver on his promises to repeal the “EV mandate” fully, stop the legacy of ‘Bidenomics’, and maintain the Trump tax cuts while removing the perverse tax structures under the Inflation Reduction Act.
The Trump Administration has done much to fix the failed border policies of the Biden Administration. It is time for Congress to do its part to deliver much needed resources at the border.
It is for these reasons we urge you to support the Concurrent Resolution on the Budget for Fiscal Year 2025.
