Grassroots group commends the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee for advancing criminal justice reform bill

MANCHESTER, NH – Americans for Prosperity-New Hampshire today applauded the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee for passing House Bill 481, a bill that would prevent unjust punishment of Granite Staters, out of committee. House Bill 481 would legalize possession and personal use of cannabis for those over the age of 21, ensuring that individuals aren’t over-penalized.

AFP-NH Deputy State Director Ross Connolly issued the following statement:

“For too long, our laws have been archaic and upended many lives for non-violent drug offenses. This bill is a sensible approach to sparing many Granite Staters from being trapped in a cycle of incarceration. We applaud the House Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee for advancing this bill that preserves public safety and strengthens our criminal justice system by focusing on those who are truly a danger to society.”
