Why are so many Americans frustrated right now? Gas prices, interest rates, housing, groceries. The list keeps growing.
AFP`s @Kentforamerica sat down with Trish Regan to talk about why, and where that frustration is being aimed.
His answer: those costs went up because government got involved. Red tape and regulatory burdens made life more expensive, then socialists showed up offering "liberation" from the very prices their own policies helped create.
What they`re actually offering is more control. Over how many hours you work, who your doctor is, where you buy groceries, who owns your housing.
A free market offers something different. It offers you the choice.
LIBRE Initiative President Daniel Garza poses a question worth sitting with: how did a country built by poor immigrants produce so many success stories its arrivals couldn`t find at home?
His answer is freedom, the same freedom socialism is built to take away. Garza argues that socialism centralizes money, power, and control in the hands of politicians and bureaucrats, and that every increase in that control comes at the direct expense of the individual`s own.
The result, in his words, is a population working to achieve a politician`s dreams instead of their own.
