AFP-LA Announces Support for Constitutional Amendment Ballot Initiative, says ‘It’s Time to Rewrite Louisiana’

Baton Rouge, LA—After passing historic tax reform in the fall special session to flatten and simplify Louisiana’s tax code while unleashing growth and removing barriers, Americans for Prosperity–Louisiana (AFP-LA) is now announcing that its robust grassroots base will support Louisiana Amendment 2.
Leading up to the March 29, 2025, vote on Amendment 2 which would rewrite Article VII of the state constitution, AFP-LA will in part work to educate voters about the transformative tax reform and growth that can be unleashed with the passage of Amendment 2. Following Governor Landry’s lead in supporting Amendment 2, AFP-LA says this ballot initiative is a step in the right direction to unleashing a more prosperous economic future for the state.
AFP-LA State Director, Scott Simon, issued the following statement:
“The time to rewrite Louisiana’s story is now. Rather than remaining a state where taxes, the cost-of-living, and outmigration are high, we are calling on voters to support Amendment 2 and rewrite our story so that our state becomes a place where raising a family, investing in business, and obtaining an education is highly sought after. With our leaders already passing transformative tax reform, AFP-LA will work to get Amendment 2 passed to ensure our future is founded on growth and opportunity for all.”
Beginning in February, AFP-LA will host events around the state meeting with voters and elected officials to garner support for Amendment 2 as well as launching a digital and mail campaign. AFP-LA highlighted key components of Amendment 2 that can usher in positive growth for Louisiana including reducing the state income tax and helping ensure fiscal responsibility and stability.
