AFP-PA Counter’s Biden on Tariffs: “Can’t-Miss Way to Make ‘Bidenomics’ Much Worse”
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania—Today President Biden visited Pittsburgh and proposed tripling the tariff rate on steel and aluminum imports from China.
Americans for Prosperity-Pennsylvania State Director Ashley Klingensmith issued the following statement:
“President Biden has found another can’t-miss way to make ‘Bidenomics’ worse for Americans. If imposed, these tariffs will only make life more expensive for Americans who are struggling to find an extra $11,400 to maintain the same standard of living they enjoyed before the President took office. This administration won’t seem to stop until it’s made every aspect of American life completely unaffordable.
“It follows the same pattern as other wrong-headed ‘Bidenomic’ policies: more red tape, more government intervention in the economy, and more money coming out of Americans’ paychecks. Americans should see this for what it is—the same inflationary ‘Bidenomics’ sprinkled with desperate political pandering.”
