Bye Bye Bidenomics!
It’s (almost) over!
After four long years, we can finally say, “Bye bye” to Bidenomics.
These economic policies brought historic inflation, massive debt, and economic turmoil to millions of Americans.
That’s why Americans for Prosperity (AFP) launched a nationwide grassroots campaign to hold elected officials accountable for the disastrous economic policies of the last four years.
We mobilized our grassroots army in states like Montana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania so they could elevate the voices of concerned citizens to speak out against the Biden Administration’s bad economic policies.
We even got to say it to President Biden himself as hundreds of activists told him Bidenomics had to go during a visit from the President to Pittsburgh.
As we look forward to a new economic era, one where we cut government waste and propel prosperity, we bid a final farewell to Bidenomics. The final record of a disastrous policy agenda that Americans won’t miss:
Bidenomics put a hole in your pocket.
This is what most Americans will remember Bidenomics for.
Every time we’ve gone to the supermarket or paid our monthly bills in the last few years, we’ve felt how much more expensive our lives are under the Biden administration.
Today, Americans pay over $13,000 more every year just to afford the same lifestyle they did in January 2021.
During the Biden-Harris administration’s time in office, the price of practically every good or service you can think of went way up:
- Eggs cost twice as much.
- Chicken breasts went up by almost 24%
- A pound of ground beef costs 41% more
- Electricity is up by almost 31%
- A gallon of gas went up by 41%.
Why? Reckless government spending and debt.
In just two years, Biden and his allies in Congress voted to released trillions of dollars into the market — making your dollar worth less.
This was not a surprise, by the way. By early 2021, many economists warned that this reckless spending spree would fuel inflation and bring little economic benefit. But he didn’t listen.
Bidenomics left America in debt.
Bidenomics might be on its way out, but Americans will foot the bill for years.
In just four years, the Biden White House added nearly $5 trillion to the $36 trillion national debt to finance wasteful spending and giveaways to corporate cronies.
That’s more than $14,000 of new debt for Americans like you.
To be fair, America’s unsustainable debt problem is not new, but Bidenomics made it worse.
As you know, living beyond your means is not a smart financial decision. But America has lived well beyond its means for years.
Last fiscal year, it was estimated that 1 in every 10 dollars of the federal budget went directly to interest payments. Every dollar the government pays on interest reflects past reckless spending that burdens Americans today and tomorrow.
This waste comes with real costs for you, the taxpayer, who’ll have to pay the tab with higher taxes or higher prices.
Bidenomics limited American potential.
Over the last four years, Washington unleashed a new wave of burdensome regulations that crushed American businesses and put the American Dream out of reach for far too many Americans.
Whether that was by imposing onerous regulations that prevent energy providers from tapping into America’s vast potential or by drafting intrusive rules that took away Americans the freedom to work how and when they want to.
Biden followed the old recipe of Keynesianism relying on massive government spending and regulations to prop the economy up, hoping this would be massively popular with everyday Americans.
His plan failed miserably.
The burdensome regulations and trillions of dollars in excessive government spending made millions of hardworking Americans’ lives much more expensive, and predictively Americans soured on his economic agenda and last month voted in support of good economic policy.
Now their time is up, and America will have a chance to pass good policies to reverse the damage and give all Americans the tools they need to thrive.
At AFP, we are ready for the next chapter. We’ll fight hard to promote policy solutions that will help Americans prosper and defeat bad policies that will not.
In fact, AFP is already gearing up for the fight to extend the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which brought prosperity to countless families, and at AFP, we are ready to protect prosperity for all Americans.
